Our Flock
We have several breeds of sheep in the flock, but our pride and joy are our registered Clun Forest sheep. We also offer sheep sales, contact us for current availability.
Clun Forest sheep
Cluns are a heritage breed from Wales and are listed on The Livestock Conservancy’s list of priority threatened breeds here in the United States. Cluns are hardy, thrifty, easy keepers that grow well on grass. Clun ewes lamb easily and are excellent mothers with plenty of rich milk for raising lambs. Clun Forests are a triple purpose breed, known for springy wool, richly flavored meat and high butterfat milk.
Clun Forest Mules
Clun Mules are a crossbreeding of a Clun Forest ewe and a Blue Faced Leicester ram. Following the British model of 3 tiered sheep breeding, our Clun Mule ewes are then crossed with our Texel ram to provide most of our market lambs. Mule/Texel lambs grow out quickly to market weight.
